COCOBOD sues NPP Parliamentary Candidate for stealing

e7d919c45b3e25810d5378a1d86e3f5a_LThe Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has sued the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Hemang Lower Denkyira constituency, Bright Wireko Brobbey, and 17 others to court for allegedly stealing over 1000 fertilisers belonging to the board.

The parliamentary candidate stole the fertiliers and shared it to NPP delegates prior to the party’s primaries in June, Accra-based Starr FM reported Thursday, adding a Cape Coast court has granted bail to the candidate and the 17 others.

The district cocoa officer in the area was reported to have connived with Wireko Brobbey to distribute the cocoa to the delegates, many of whom were not farmers, to induce them to vote for him.

They were subsequently charged with aiding and abetment of crime and stealing, according to the repot.
