Flagstaff House under a curse – Prophet

284045832_891807The magnificent building which serves as a residence and office of the President of Ghana – “The Flagstaff House” has been declared as a “House of Doom” by one Prophet Kwabena Owusu Adjei.According to the leader and founder of the Hezekiah Apostolic Prayer Ministry, the Mahama-led government has converted the then presidential palace into a shrine after an overnight change of name from “Golden Jubilee House” to “The Flagstaff House”.

The man of God told host of NEAT FM’s Ghana Montie morning show host Kwasi Aboagye that, he notified the President to evacuate the Flagstaff House if his party is not ready to reverse the name to Jubilee House.

“I sent them [NDC government] a notice and the president sent a delegation to me for solutions. Later I heard their party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia says they will never change the name,” he said.

Prophet Kwabena Owusu Adjei further lamented that – “Calamities will continue to befall on the president and his administration. All the sufferings Ghanaians are going through now is as a result of president Mahama’s stubbornness. The Dumsor Dumsor [Erratic power supply], the hardship and all will never stop unless the president asks that the original name be reverted”

Flagstaff House was reconstructed and inaugurated by the government of John Agyekum Kufour with the name “Golden Jubilee House” in November 2008 when construction was about 70% – 80% completed.

In January 2009 the incoming government of President Mills moved the office of the president back to Osu Castle and later changed the sign in front of the building back to its original name claiming that the previous government had not used a Legislative Instrument to effect the change as required by law.

The Mills government was in turn criticized that the name Flagstaff House which was given to the building by the British Gold Coast government glorifies Ghana’s Gold Coast past – The seat of government was moved back to the Flagstaff House in January 2013
