“Would I have given him the platform on my website (www.233times.net) if not the Adisadel College factor in there?” I asked myself after I visited the struggling-to-survive Baffour Awuah Tabury in his humble home in Takoradi.
This question poked me because I wondered if non-Santas (non-old Students of Adisadel College) would feel the same burning desire to help Baffour walk again. Even though as a medium, www.233times.net dedicated the first publicity to the Adisadel College Alumni (SAD PHOTOS: Save me from dying: Santa cries to Santaclausians (Alumni of Adisadel College), the response from the general public even at the sight of the headline strictly for the ‘Santas’ was overwhelming.
This has urged me to further call on the internet populace who believe in John Bunyan’s axiom that, “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you” to help a brother who has not used his legs nor stood up since 2007 due to a spinal cord injury he sustained which left him paralyzed waist down.
The cost of the operation is $32,400 which would be done in Panama. With each others little help, this amount would be raised to help Baffour walk again. “I feel pains at my waist area, like they are cutting it with saw, but since I go through it daily, I have to endure” Baffour told Nana Kwesi Coomson when he visited him.
The details of the accident recounted by Baffour below;
