I was a Rapper but Paedae told me that … – Mugeez reveals

R2bees-R2Bees made of PaeDae and Mugeez in a recent interview shared a story about how Mugeez switched from hard rap to the sultry singing the world now loved him for.

The R2Bees Nation artists currently canvassing for ears for their Site 15 album which contains their recent cut Gboza revealed;

“I tell people we have been together for a long time because we are blood related. PaeDae said. “Most people groups came together because of the music. Some meet through a talent show and come together just to make music but we have been together from day one. We all grew up from Community one site fifteen.”

Mugeez revealed the group doesn’t need each other that much in the studios lately thanks to their long years practice together.

“Sometimes I’m there alone making the music, we don’t have to always be around each other to make music these days. We now have a studio in the house so when I get inspired I get in the studio and lay some ideas down. I wait for a while and then get another idea and lay it down again. Sometimes too we are together vibing and something comes up. I am almost always alone doing my part and he will come around to add his part.”

PaeDeezy currently warming Ghanaians up for his solo tape; Victory through Harmony added; “But I think we have been doing it for so long that we don’t need each other around to make music now. Because in the beginning we were always together in the studio but now we now have a studio and we have that natural vibe and sync to the point where we know what sound fits each other and where each person will fit on the song, we know what we sound like. These days Killbeatz just sends the beats and we work on it but a song like Odo Mugeez had the song all lined up in his mind, went up to Killbeatz and told him what exactly was in his head and that song was done.”

“I will give the credits to Pae because I use to be a rapper.” Mugeez on how he switched from rapping to singing. “We use to rap together but in every song you need someone to do the hook and chorus and the rest and I tried to do that every point and Pae told me one day, ‘I think your voice is good and you sound good with the singing. Why don’t you write our choruses and singing verses because we were at a point where we needed someone to do the singing… So I told him I will give it a try and people loved it.

PaeDae revealed Mugeez was reluctant to switch because he thought singing was for soft people and his background would not allow him to enjoy that singing space.

“When I first told him to sing, he was like, singing is soft and for slow guys but we are from Community one Site fifteen, we are hard and tough guys. Fast forward today, I think it’s something most people try to overlook but Mugeez is the baddest singer I have ever heard. I am not talking about Ghana or Africa, I’m talking about the world. If you know music and sound you will feel the uniqueness in his voice but people are not recognizing him for Best Male Vocalist and stuff like that. We don’t care about awards because you know our resume but I mean for him not be recognized and overlooked like that, I’m just there and thinking, this a whole joke.”

But Muggez revealed he was Okay with his current position. “I don’t feel anyway about this because in my mind I don’t see myself as a singer. I’m an artist”
