Online news portal, www.233times.net , together with www.satelliteghana.com and friends donated items last Saturday (11th July, 2015) to support relief efforts for the survivors of the June 3 fire and flood disaster that claimed more than 150 lives.
The items were sent to TV3 premises as contribution to the Television Station’s June 3 Disaster Support Fund. The items mainly clothes and toiletries worth hundreds of Ghana Cedis were sent by ww.233times.net ’s Representative, Ekua Mansa Amoaba Amoah.
Speaking to the CEO of www.233times.net Nana Kwesi Coomson, he said “most of the items were received in Takoradi and we conveyed the items to our Representative in Accra to be sent to TV3 as contribution to their well-publicized June 3 Disaster Support Fund. “
“We wanted to send the items personally to the victims but because of work schedules, we had to rely on like-minded Organization like TV3 to send them to the right people” Nana Kwesi Coomson’s answer to why they did not send the items personally to the victims.
“This whole project was architectured by Naomi, who is using the name Blessed Pistis Queen on Facebook. She is a friend to the medium who had seen our previous donations, so she suggested that we solicit for items for the flood and explosion victims and she personally collected most of the items from donors which were later brought to us. We owe all of this to her and the amazing souls who are ever ready to support our donation anytime we call on them. We are so grateful to the donors, especially Dr. Emmanuel Coomson, acting Medical Superintendent at Essam Government Hospital who financially supported us” Nana Kwesi Coomson expressed gratitude.
