President John Mahama has sworn in new Electoral Commission boss, Charlotte Osei at the Flagstaff House, Tuesday.
All political party chairmen and chairperson including seven commissioners of the EC were present at the brief ceremony to outdoor Ghana’s first female Electoral Commissioner.
President Mahama wished her well in her new position and charged her to work with due diligence.
Mrs. Osei however noted that, she will not hesitate to learn from her predecessor, Dr. Afari Gyan.
Until her appointment, Mrs. Charlotte Osei was the Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education – she is also a lawyer with considerable experience in public service management, institutional reform also has expertise in corporate law, banking, and insurance, project financing and public-private partnerships.
Mrs. Charlotte Osei holds a Masters in Law (LLM) from Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada and a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa, Pretoria. She obtained an LLB (Hons) from the University of Ghana in 1992.
