72yr Assemblyman aspirant threatens court action against EC

7058751155104_8000638546422An aspirant in the up coming district level elections in the Sekondi/Takoradi metropolis whose name is missing in the notice of polls which came out on Tuesday is threatening court action.

Hon. Onumah, an immediate former Assembly member of Airport Ridge is seeking re-election. He is very devastated by this last minute unexpected elimination and is yet to formally contact the Regional EC office for reasons of his supposed disqualification.

The aggrieved Candidate, Hon Onumah, 72, who poured his bitterness on Skyy’s Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Wednesday morning says he is yet to overcome the shock of his exclusion.

The regional EC Boss Stephen Opoku Mensah has however apologized for the inconvenience caused him, saying the new CI bans people over 70 years from contesting but admits the Electoral commission failed to educate people on that.

The disqualified assembly member who appears not satisfied by the apology says he’s taking the EC to court.
