KKD breaks silence on alleged rape case

Renowned broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah has described the African Regent Hotel, where is alleged to have raped a young woman Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson in December last year as his favourite hotel.

Speaking for the first time since he was discharged by an Accra High Court, KKD told host of ‘Starr Drive Bola Ray’ that the African Regent and the La Badi Beach Hotels make the best club sandwich in the country. “In Ghana there are two particular hotels I love, the first is the La Badi Beach hotel…and then there is the African Regent Hotel…these two make the best club sandwich in the world”.

KKD also dismissed claims that Orleans Thompson was under age and wrong for him to have had sex with her. According to him, contrary to media reports that the young girl was 19, Orleans Thompson is 22 and old enough to get married. “At 18 you can marry in Ghana, so I would like to correct the young journalists who described maybe a 22-year-old person who they thought was 19 as a young girl, she is a young woman”.

KKD also revealed that one of four witnesses who were present at the Airport Police station where Orleans Thompson stated that she was not raped is dead adding that the truth regarding the whole saga can be unraveled by contacting the other three witnesses.
