Nana Bomeph, popularly known in private life as Aziz, a member of the Akona Paado Family in Ekuase was declared a chief after brief rite that was privately performed by his faction a few weeks after the sudden death of the substantive chief, Nana Ekuase the sixth who is yet to be buried.

This was met with a stiff and vehement opposition by the family of the deceased chief with overwhelimg support from the indigenes who claim Nana Bompeh is a stranger.

The dispute was put before the Sekondi Traditional Council which sat over it Tuesday, 19th August, 2015.

In its ruling, the Traditional Council declared that, Nana Bompeh has no capacity to be enstooled as the chief if the community.

He was therefore ordered to cease to refer to himself as the chief with immediate effect.

The indigenes who thronged to the premises of the Traditional Council in their numbers poured into the streets immediately after the ruling amidst drumming and dancing.

They sang some parody of insinuative songs and danced through the principal streets of Sekondi to Ekuase.
