Takoradi Airforce base starts collection of tolls?

Ghana_street_sceneCommercial Drivers who ply between Takoradi Central and Airforce base are fuming with rage over tolls that are being collected by the authorities of Airforce Base in Takoradi.

Some Drivers who spoke with Jolly Breakfast Show’s (JBS) Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson on the condition of anonymity claim the collection that was started barely a month ago is strange since no official explanation has been given to them.

The Motorists say under the new ‘unexpected’ arrangement all commercial vehicles that enter the premises of the Airforce are made to pay a daily toll of GHC1 with an issued receipt.

The Motorists, most of whom are Taxi Drivers say they are afraid to confront the Airforce Authorities for fear of being manhandled.

JBS team is making the necessary efforts to get response from the Officials at Airforce. As at press time, all efforts had proved futile.
