Takoradi: Airport Ridge wants Assembly Member elect disqualified for falsification

The residents of Airport Ridge, a first class residential area in the Sekondi –Takoradi Metropolis want their Assembly Member elect, Michael Kwame Doku disqualified for falsification of academic qualification.

The Secretary of the Residents Association of the plush suburb of Takoradi, Mr. Ato Addison told www.233times.net that, the association was informed about the falsification of the academic qualification of the Assembly Member elect after the elections.

On the notice of poll, Michael Doku stated that, he has SSCE certificate but according to the Residents Association Secretary, the Assembly member elect has not even completed Junior High School so they have petitioned the Electoral Commission and the Regional Electoral Commissioner to bring the less than one week Assembly Member to book.

The residents association also alleges that, Michael Doku is not a resident of Airport Ridge. “He was once a resident of the area but he is no more staying here. He should tell us where he stays here; he is lying, he doesn’t stay here” Mr. Addison alleged.

The Electoral Commission is yet to respond to the petition.
