Brong Ahafo: Man killed for stealing cock

maxresdefaultA 50 year old man only named as Yakubu has been killed and dumped at the roadside for stealing a cock at Techimantia-Aduana in the Tano South District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Seven people; Adams Dramani 43, Osei Kwame 31, Yaw Takyi 35, Apraku Emmanuel 32, Emmanuel Amu 23 and Owusu Prince 17, have been arrested by the Sunyani Police to helping in investigations.

Explaining to DAILY GUIDE the circumstances leading to the death of Yakubu, the Public Relations Officer of Brong Ahafo Police, ASP Christopher Tawiah, said at about 1:30am on the night of October 24 2015, the owner of the cock (name not available) raised alarm that Yakubu had entered his hen coop and stole his cock.

The suspects who heard the noise came out of their rooms and gave Yakubu a hot chase, caught him up and beat him until he died. They then dumped the body by the roadside and bolted.

Police intelligence gathering led to the arrest of the seven. They are now in police custody pending further investigations.

According to ASP Tawiah, the seven suspects will be charged for murder and arraigned before court after the conclusion of investigations. The deceased has since been deposited at St. John of God Hospital morgue at Duayaw-Nkwanta.
