Members of the outgoing Ghana FA Executive committee will each pocket $15,000 as ex-gratia, contrary to an approved figure by Congress in 2011.
The 22-member committee will be smiling to the bank to a share of the booty for their contribution to Ghana football during their four-year tenure.
However, the amount expected to be paid to members is without controversy even though it contravenes the figure approved by Congress- the highest decision body of the federation four years ago.
Congress approved $2,604 as ex-gratia for members of the powerful Executive Committee but in a rather surprise turn of events, the Ghana FA has agreed to pay each member a staggering $15,000 as a reward for their contribution to Ghana football.
The Ghana FA has come under lots of flak for taking the latest decision without the approval of the highest decision body of the federation.
The Ghana elections recorded some major casualties with vice-president Fred Crentsil, former Black Stars management committee member Kudjoe Fianoo, long-standing Northern regional chairman Adam Munkaila and Central regional ‘mugabe’ MNS Doe losing their seats on the committee.
