NDC is ready to rig elections – NPP

Acting General Secretary and National Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party John Boadu says the NDC’s 60/20 target for the Western Region is unreasonable. John Boadu says the ruling party’s confidence in the upcoming general elections stems from their willingness to rig the elections andmanipulate the results.

The National Democratic Congress in the Western Region last week declared that they have set their sights on winning 60% of the total valid votes in the region for the Presidential elections and 20 of the region’s 26 parliamentary seats. The “Akatamansonians” won 54% and 18 Parliamentary seats in the 2012 elections, a considerable improvement on the 45% and 11 seats won in 2008. Western Region NDC Organiser Japhet Baidoo earlier told Skyy Headline News this year’s target is modest in comparison with their previous performance.

John Boadu however disagrees with the NDC. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Skyy News, he said a careful analysis of the recent Amenfi West by election shows that the ruling party is losing its grip in the region.

Mr. Boadu said “the NDC is only making noise, they just want people to know they exist”.

According to him, the NDC’s confidence stems from their intent to rig the election and manipulate the results. He added the availability of ghost names in the voters register does not guarantee an opportunity for the NDC to rig elections.

The NPP scribe assured Ghanaians that his party is working on the ground and gathering capacity to come out strong in the General elections.
