The world’s biggest roses have gone on sale just in time for Valentine’s Day – but snapping them up for your other half will burn a hole in your bank account.
Because the flowers , which measure almost 5ft tall, cash in at up to a whopping £9,000 a bouquet.
For the price of a second hand Mercedes SL 500 , a luxury round the world cruise or two conservatory extensions, these flowers could be yours.
1,000 stems will set you back £9k, but you can go for a cheaper model – 150 are £2,000, 50 are £750 and 24 cost £500.
They were specially cultivated to make what company Arena Flowers claim are the tallest roses in the world.
Due to the high altitude, the flowers have a slower growth cycle than normal, meaning they grow long stems and very large heads.
