Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has called on Ghanaians to maintain peace ahead of the November polls.
He said Ghana has been enjoying peace in every election, and encouraged the citizens to continue same since chaos will not help in the development of the country.
Speaking on Accra-based Hot FM, the Shanghai SPIG player also mentioned that he is fit to play in Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
He recently suffered a thigh injury during his team’s opener of the Asian Champions League against Melbourne Victory in Australia, which they lost 2-1 in February.
“I have been battling it out with injuries for some time now; however, I have regained my fitness and I’m ready to feature in any competitive match,” he said.
He added, “I have featured in three matches but have not scored yet as a result of my fitness level but I am optimistic that I will find my scoring boots very soon. In my last game, I felt I’m getting back to normal and I pray it continues”.
The all-time highest goal scorer of the Black Stars also asked Ghanaians to rally behind the team as they face Mozambique, and assured them of three maximum points in that crucial encounter.
Gyan commended the media for the attention it has given to the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League.
