The 2002 year group of Assin Manso Senior High School (AMOSU) have donated assorted items to the their Alma matter  in the Central Region of Ghana.

The old Students who identified various challenges the school faces provided items to make teaching and learning easier for both Teachers and current Students at the prestigious senior high school in the Central Region. “For decades, the school has had problems from student’s accommodation, environmental to food and others so the 2002 year group identified some of these problems and went to their aid” Emmanuel Asare Bediako, an Old Student and a member of the 2002 year group told www.233times.net.

As part of encouraging the AMASS Female Volley ball team who represented the Central Region at the national volley ball competition, the Old Students donated 18 set of volley ball training kits and jerseys to the team to help them reach higher heights.

In addition, the generous 2002 Old Students also provided the school’s ICT centre with a projector and screen to make teaching and learning in the ICT centre very efficient.

Madam Grace Ohemeng, the current Headmistress of the school received the items on behalf of the school and blessed the Old Students.

ABOUT ASSIN MANSO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Until 1971, Assin Manso SHS was a training college, called Assin Manso Training College (AMANSCO). The College was established in 1965 during Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s regime in accordance with national policy to make all training colleges community based.

By government descision, most of the community based training colleges were abolished and so was the training college converted to Assin Manso Secondary School in September 1971 during Acheampong’s regime. The school is situated on top of a hill about 500 metres north-west of Assin Manso township on Cape Coast to Kumasi trunk road.
