Cape Coast: Woman arrested for allegedly killing grandchild (PHOTO)

A 35 year old woman is being held by the Police in the Central Regional Capital, Cape Coast in connection with the mysterious death of her three week old Grandchild.

The suspect, Grace Amoah is being accused by her own 17year old daughter Joyce Amoah, a JHS 2 pupil who is the mother of the deceased of killing the baby and burying him secretly at an outskirts of Akotokyer, a suburb of Cape Coast According to Joyce, her mother started picking up quarrels with her when she(Joyce) became pregnant.

Her reason being that, she’s still schooling She further explains, when she was delivered of the baby, her mother who was also nursing a baby asked her to give the grandchild to her for her to breastfeed her whilst she (Joyce) continued with her Schooling In the early hours of Tuesday, April 5, she couldn’t find the whereabout of the baby.

She asked her Mum but could not give any tangible explanation The case was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the Grandmother. After interrogation, she led the police to where the baby was buried and the body was exhumed.

A relative of the suspect who gave her name as Akyere says she strongly suspects the Grandmother to have committed the murder She speaks with Kakra Abrowa, a freelance Journalist in Cape Coast in an interview.

The body has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Hospital for autopsy.
