GES meets over Wesley Girls occultism saga

VP-Amissah-Arthur-addressing-students-of-Wesley-Girls-High-School-in-Cape-CoastStarr News has gathered that the Ghana Education Service is in a crunch meeting over reports of occultism in some senior high schools in the country.

The Education Committee of Parliament is also set to meet over the recent reports.

This follow reports that twenty-two students of the Wesley Girls High School were caught engaging in occultism and other practices.

Although school authorities have been tight lipped on the issue, Chairman of the Education Committee of Parliament Mathias Pouzaa in an interview with Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg said his committee will soon meet over the matter.

“Whatever becomes a national issue is a concern of parliament and at times we try to prevent certain things happening by taking an early attack on it. So now that it is up, we as a representative of the people will take a good look at it,” Mr Pouzaa said.

Meanwhile, former Secretary of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, Felix Essah-Heinno believes effective monitoring of students by authorities will help stop the spread of occultism in educational institutions.
