PHOTOS: Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey goes home today

13015163_999863053429493_5869702645243143024_nHundreds of Ghanaians, particularly members and executives of the New Patriotic Party have gathered at the forecourt of the State House in Accra to bid their final farewell to the late chairman of the party Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

President John Mahama, former President John Kufuor and flagbearer of the opposition party Nana Akufo-Addo are expected to attend the funeral ceremony which is currently underway. The advertising icon will be buried later today.

Jake who led the NPP into victory in the 2000 elections died in London on March 19, where he had gone for kidney treatment, family sources revealed.

He was minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital (2002–05) and Minister of Information.

He resigned his posts in July 2007 to campaign for the NPP nomination for the 2008 Presidential elections.
