Addressing some chiefs and people of the Volta region after his tour, the three time presidential hopeful said two major areas his government would focus on if they come into office would be “industrial development of our country and the revival of our agriculture.
“If we do these two things correctly we would be creating hundreds of jobs for our young people. That’s going to be our focus.”
Nana Addo said these after Alan Kyerematen had spoken to the people, touching on issues of industrialization and agricultural development under an NPP government and called on the people to “vote for change and Nana Addo for improved development in our country.”
Nana Addo then said “Togbuiga, you’ve heard Alan Kyeremanten talk about the plans for industrial development, please listen to him very closely because if God willing we get the chance to comeback into office, that is the minister of industry and trade talking to you.”
The two political figures Nana Akufo Addo and Alan Kyerematen have been fierce political rivals of the same political party for several years as they both wanted the mandate of the NPP to lead them as flagbearer.
But on all occasions, Nana Addo won. There were rumours of bad blood between the two men but in the recent past both figures have been seen campaigning together, a move some political watchers have described as ‘positive for development.’
