A 33-YEAR-OLD woman, alleged to have poured hot soup on a woman and her one-year-old daughter, has been arrested by the Kpone District police.
The woman, Charlotte Teye, a chop bar operator and resident of Kpone, was said to have gotten angry with the waitress, Rita Anim, a 21-year-old mother of one, over a pair of slippers.
Charlotte is in the custody of the police charged with causing unlawful harm.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) William Kwofie Jabialu, the Kpone District Commander who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said that the incident occurred on April 26, 2016 at about 10:30 am.
He explained that the waitress and the chop bar operator had reportedly been having misunderstandings for some period now until the day of the incident when the victim demanded her slippers being worn by the caretaker of the chop bar.
The operator, the police officer disclosed, became angry after taking the slippers from Rita and started casting insinuations at her (victim), resulting in the two verbally abusing each other, which culminated in the woman pouring hot soup on the victim.
DSP Jabialu stated that the victim was issued with police medical report forms together with her child, to attend hospital for treatment and examination.
He pointed out that the Charlotte would be prosecuted after investigation into the matter had been completed.
He disclosed that the victim and her daughter were responding to treatment.
