445362380_561868Electoral Officers in one of the polling centers in the Asokoroe Mampong Municipality were forced to put the registration exercise on hold until armed police officers were able to deal with some thugs who invaded their premise and destroyed several items belonging to the Commission.

The Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress together with the thugs he arrived with were arrested and made to lie on the floor before the police whisked them away.

Prior to their invasion, which left several broken items scattered on the floor, the Member of Parliament for Asawase, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka and some NDC executives had alleged that the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako had bused minors into their constituency to take part in the registration exercise.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP popularly known as Chairman ‘Wontumi’ has denied the allegation.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com he stated that he believes that Hon. Muntaka is on a wild goose chase and would not be detracted by “a man who is about to lose his seat very soon”.
