Rolly Panda bounces back with ‘Libido’

91fbe4b246e3e780832c11ccc4ee53d5_LAlthough the songs he released in the past didn’t make waves across the nation as he had envisioned, Afrobeat artiste, Rolly Panda, didn’t let that discourage him.

He has bounced back on the music scene with a new song titled Libido, which he hopes will become a hit and take his musical career a notch higher.

Libido, produced by Kay Nie and featuring Boy Kay, talks about how he (Rolly Panda) always goes gaga whenever he sets his eyes on a certain lady.

“The song is a true life story of what happened to me back then in University of Ghana. I admired a lady so much but could not approach her. The whole of my four years in the school, I couldn’t utter a word to her although we were offering the same course,” he recalled.

“We were in the studio recently and the sound engineer narrated a similar story. We all burst into laughter and I said I have to sing about it. He then programmed the beat and I narrated my story.  That’s how the song came about,” he told Showbiz last Wednesday.

Asked why he titled the song Libido, the native of Keta in the Volta Region said, “I named it Libido because that’s exactly what happens to me whenever I see the lady. I couldn’t use any other word but Libido. It’s a true life story so it must be narrated candidly,” he said.

According to the young artiste who is clamouring for attention for his talent, he is excited about the positive feedback his new song is garnering after its release.

“The response is good so far. The song is gradually enjoying airplay on radio. We even had a mega ‘Libido’ musical concert at Teshie last Saturday, May 14,” he said.

Known in real life as Hayford Adjorlolo, Rolly Panda is an alumnus of the University of Ghana. He released songs like Ewukplu and Krom Ay3 D3 in the past which he said “couldn’t catch fire”.

“We should support and promote our own. I’ll like to use this opportunity to advise the youth to desist from drugs,” he advised.
