Last weekend witnessed Kofi Kinaata grabbing two awards at the prestigious Ghana Music Awards; Best New Artiste of the year and Songwriter of the year. To the youth of Sekondi-Takoradi (Oil City), this means more than awards, to them, it means they are being represented on the national music map, a neglect which has been a regional woe for years.
Yesterday (8th May, 2016), some youth from the Oil City, majority of them from Effiakuma, a suburb of Takoradi organized a street jam and float through principal streets of Takoradi to celebrate Kofi Kinaata for the heroic victory. The float was accompanied with brass brand strictly playing songs of the Susuka Crooner.
