The leader of the NPP in Parliament, Minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has flatly denied allegations Asamoah Gyan is financing the party.
In an appearance on Starr Fm Wednesday, the veteran MP for Suame bluntly attempted to put to rest the rumours started by one Mugabe, a presenter on Accra based Montie Fm.
According to him, there is no involvement of the Black Stars captain in the finances of their party.
“I can tell you on authority from where I sit that I never know Asamoah Gyan contribute in any meaningful way to the affairs of our party.” Mensah-Bonsu told Bola Ray.
“I don’t know of any such contribution coming from Asamoah Gyan in 2008, 2012 when I have been keenly involved,”
Asamoah Gyan on Wednesday had to deny allegations of financing the party. In a series of tweets through his official account on, he called on the station to call their reporter to order and stop sullying the good name of a noble profession like journalism.
