ARTHUR Simpson-Kent, the man who fled to Ghana from London after his girlfriend and children were found dead, is facing three life sentences after admitting their murder.
The 48-year-old one-time model and hairdresser appeared at the Old Bailey, one of the most famous courts in the world, Friday.
On a video link from HMP Belmarsh, he sat in his prison-issue sweatshirt and jogging pants and answered “guilty” to each of the three murder charges that were put to him.
He murdered ex-TV actress Sian Blake, 43, because she was terminally ill, he confessed to his mum in a text message.
But he also murdered their two sons – Zachary, eight, and Amon, four – so they would not be raised by Sian’s family.
He then buried their bodies in shallow graves in the back garden of their dilapidated bungalow in Kent, east of London.
And, when the police were called because Sian’s family were worried about her disappearance, the murderer fled to Ghana, the country of his birth that he left aged eight.
Simpson-Kent’s legal team is expected to submit psychiatric reports at his sentencing that, they say, will show “his mental state” at the time of the killings.
He will be sentenced on October 4.
Sian’s family was in court to see him admit the murders. Afterwards, her sister Ava said they were “pleased and relieved”.
