Two weeks memorial event of ace highlife icon Daasebre Kwadwo Gyamena also known as Abubakar Siddiq is scheduled to take place at his family house in Koforidua on August 12, 2016, according to a family source ahead of his burial and final funeral rites.
The commemoration of the second week of the funeral as agreed by the two families will permit the burial of the late highlife musician in line with the Islamic tradition.
The late Daasebre Gyamena was a brilliant mid-tempo highlife musician, the first to fuse rap with highlife in the advent of rap music (Hiplife), Kokookko which became instant hit in 1999, which featured former hiplife musician now turned Pastor Lord Kenya.
The award-winning artiste died on Friday July 29 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a protracted illness.
The remains of the musician were conveyed from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) where he passed away last Friday morning, while he was on admission. He was 44 and left behind three children and a wife.
