Akosua-Agyapomaa-620x406A 35-year-old woman, Akosua Agyapomaa has been gruesomely murdered on a cocoa farm at Agogoso, near Kwadwo Nkwanta in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

The throat of the mother of one was brutally cut by the unidentified assailants.

Her body was discovered on Tuesday on the cocoa farm near a footpath that leads to Adansi Awona by local residents who alerted the police.

Supt Yaw Obeng Asubonteng, Fomena District Police Commander, who confirmed the incident, told DAILY GUIDEthat the police would thoroughly investigate the matter to arrest the culprits.

The bewildered local residents, who did not discover blood at the scene, alleged that blood of Akosua Agyapomaa was used for rituals.

The husband of the deceased Kwabena Mensah said he left the house at Agogoso around 9 pm to visit a friend, while Akosua Agyapomaa was preparing dinner for the family, but could not trace her upon his return.

He narrated that since the woman frequently visited her parents in the next village- Adansi Awona, he thought the deceased had gone there and never bothered to look for her.

Mr Mensah said he only got to known about the death of his wife when the Odikro, a sub-divisional chief broke the news to him.

No arrests have been made so far by the police.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue of the Peace Land Hospital.
