Father bonks daughter . . . Victim 3 months pregnant

802341021_167940Father of five, Abubakari Bediako has been convicted on his own plea by an Accra Circuit Court at his first appearance after pleading guilty of having sexual intercourse with his 16-year-old daughter.

The convict who is a driver has his sentencing to Nsawam Prison deferred to September 8, 2016 by the court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Ruby Naa Adjele Quaison.

The visibly distraught looking man was charged with incest to wit having carnal knowledge with his own 16-year-old biological daughter and impregnated her in the process contrary to section 105 of the criminal offences act 29/60.

Prosecution led by Detective inspector Kofi Attimbire in the brief facts presented to the court said the complainant in the case is a cleaner and the mother of the 16-year-old victim living at Olebu near Amasaman, in the Ga West Municipal Assembly.

While the accused person is a driver and the father of the victim also living in the same house.

Detective Inspector Attimbire said the complainant and accused person have been married for many years and the victim is the first of their five children and they all live in the same house.

Pregnancy Test

He said on June 29, this year, “complainant detected that the victim’s menses had delayed so she conducted a pregnancy test on the victim and the result was that victim was three months pregnant.”

According to him, the mother asked victim who impregnated her and she (victim) mentioned the father, adding that he stated having sexual intercourse with her “somewhere around November 2015.”

He told the court that, the accused person had sex with her whenever the mother went for night work and the complainant reported the case and a police medical form was issued to complainant to send victim to hospital for examination, treatment and report.

“Complainant returned victim’s endorsed medical form. On 4/8/2016, the accused was arrested and cautioned. Accused admitted the offence and after investigations, the accused person was charged before your honour.”

Fate of pregnancy

The fate of the pregnancy the paper gathered was yet to be decided; as to whether it would be aborted or not. Judgement deferred to September 8, 2016.
