The 2016 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stated that he will not be distracted in his quest to win the upcoming elections, to lead the country into the land of prosperity from 2017, despite the insults and personal attacks from members of the governing NDC.
According to Nana Addo, the NDC’s desperate attempt to fabricate false stories to make him and the NPP unpopular in the eyes of Zongo people and Ghanaians at large cannot work any magic for them.
NDC members have made it their routine agenda to continually visit most zongo communities to spew lies about Nana Akufo-Addo, by the NPP presidential candidate believes this devilish act has already fallen flat, and he is confident that the good people of zongo will reject the wicked lies.
The opposition leader has, therefore, charged Ghanaians, particularly the various Zongo communities, to reject the vile propaganda against me.
Nana Addo is sure that very soon functionaries of the NDC who are desperate to win political power this year will soon be visiting the various zongo communities once again to lie about him and the NPP, as part of their campaign strategy.
Nana Akufo-Addo was addressing NPP faithful and supporters during the campaign launch of the party’s branch at the Asawase in Kumasi.
The NPP flagbearer emphatically predicted an overwhelming victory for his party in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Asawase constituency.
He said Ghana would be a terrible place to live in the future if Ghanaians vote to retain the NDC in power in the coming elections.
He urged the people to vote for Alhaji Alidu Seidu, the NPP parliamentary candidate, whom he described as a hard working, visionary and development-oriented person, to replace the incumbent MP, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.
The NPP presidential candidate reiterated that his government would institute a Zongo Development Fund which would be used solely to develop all the Zongo communities to help better the lives of people residing there.
He again expressed concern about the rising unemployment rate in the country, stressing that his heart always bleeds whenever he sees the energetic youth roaming the streets doing nothing meaningful.
