I’ll be President for all – Nana Addo to people of Northern Region

Nana-Addo-750x406Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, standard bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured the people of the Northern Region that he would be a president for all and do what is right when elected on December 7.

He said that he would always ensure peace at Dagbon in particular and Ghana as a whole.

He lamented the fact that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had alleged that he (Nana Addo) would de-skin about 31 chiefs at Dagbon if given the nod.

“I am not involved in the matters of Dagbon. Chieftaincy is not my business. My business is to make sure that Ghana becomes the country everybody yearns for.”

The NPP presidential candidate gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy call on the regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai, at his palace in Yendi yesterday.

“The regent knows that his father was my close friend and I want to establish that kind of relationship with him as well,” he said.

Nana Addo indicated that he is not a Dagomba, Abudu or Andani so he does not have any intention of causing any commotion at Dagbon.

According to him, his only interest is to see Dagbon once again being at peace and united and play its role in the development of the area and the country as a whole.

He stated that Dagbon is one of the most famous states in the history of the Ghanaian people.

Nana Addo assured the regent of his support in building Dagbon to make it very strong and peaceful, urging the regent to count on him.

Supporters of the NPP ushered Nana Addo and his entourage into Yendi, causing severe traffic congestion in the township.

Dignitaries, who accompanied Nana Addo, included his running mate, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia; former Minister for Trade and Industry,  Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen; the NPP National Women’s Organizer, Otiko Afisah Djabah; Ursula Owusu Ekufo, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West; a former Northern Regional Minister, Prince Imoro  Andani; the party’s National Nasara Coordinator,  Kamaldeen  Abdulai; Nana Addo’s spokesperson, Mustapha Hamid and campaign Aide, Iddrisu Musah  Superior, among others.

“All the promises I made, the NDC said they were not possible but later they started implementing them and now I am making another promise that when I’m voted into power every district will get one factory; and it’s a promise,” the NPP leader stressed.

Nana Addo indicated that all kinds of things had been said about him and the NPP party just to create divisions in the party, pointing out that none of the things said about him is true.

He appealed to the people of Dagbon to try him and see because he has something positive for the people of Ghana.

Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai cautioned politicians who go on air insulting chiefs and opinion leaders to desist from that act to ensure peace and unity during and after the December general elections.

According to him, “No matter which tribe or religion one belongs, we are all Ghanaians; we do not have to do anything that will bring any unfortunate situations into the country.”

He charged, “This is to all politicians. If you promise us anything and you do not fulfill it, we will ask you so please promise Ghanaians what you can do to ensure development.”

He cautioned the youth not to let politicians use them to their advantage else one day most of them would regret their actions because such actions could affect them in the near future.
