President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been elected as a member of the FIFA Council Thursday.
Nyantakyi came up against Ahmad (Madagascar), Almamy Kabele Camara (Guinea) and Augustin Senghor.
The GFA boss placed second behind Almamy Kabele Camara (Guinea) who polled 37 points with Nyantakyi getting 31 points completing the two candidates for the position.
The newly elected members will only sit on the council until March next year when another round of elections will be held at the 2017 CAF Congress in Addis Ababa on March 17.
