Nigerian nabbed for posing as secretary of Chief of Staff (PHOTO)

A 38-year-old Nigerian national is in the grips of the Osu District Police Command for posing as the secretary of Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, in an attempt to assist one Mr Peter Wang Tung-Shun claim an investment left to him by his deceased Vietnamese uncle totalling $8,520,000.

According to ASP Richard Daplah, Osu District Crime Officer, the suspect, Dennis Ndukwu, and another, Robert Amuzu (who is currently at large), found the visa card of Mr Peter Wang Tung-Shun, picked his details and realised that he was left a fortune by his deceased uncle.

Through correspondence, Dennis assured Peter that he was the personal secretary to the Chief of Staff and could help him claim his inheritance.

Convinced that the people were genuine, Peter sent down his visa card and other documents pertaining to the said account for Dennis and Robert to assist him claim his bequest.

When Peter sent the card, the two then withdrew a sum of $100,000, which raised suspicions from the bank where the investment was made. Based on that suspicion, the bank blocked the card.

After failed attempts by the two to withdraw more money from the account after it had been blocked, they contacted Peter to send money to finish the process.

The Crime Officer noted that Peter told them that he could not do Western Union transfer from Vietnam and needed to travel to Thailand to do the transaction.

Peter then proceeded to Thailand and sent them $4,740. After sometime they contacted Peter to send them $500. Peter then gave them a contact in Ghana to call for the money since he could not travel to Thailand for the transaction.

It was when Dennis was going to collect the money from the contact that police arrested him based on Police Intelligence.

He would be processed for court for impersonation.
