“Sometimes investing in Ghana music is like taking a bucket to fetch water from the sea” – Tic Tac

Reminiscing a statement made by Legend Hilife Artiste Rex Omar 15 years ago on BBC, Rapper Tic Tac says what Rex Omar said some decade and half ago now makes sense to him. The statement which is “Sometimes investing in Ghana music is like taking a bucket to fetch water from the sea” echoes effort in futility when an investor pumps money in the music industry.

Speaking to Nana Kwame the Master Planner on Skyy Power FM’s weekly ‘OC Showbiz Review,’ Tic Tac was reacting to a statement made by Wutah Afriyie that Ghanaian Artistes rather invest in other industries like pubs, nightclubs, et al instead of music when they make money.

In his reaction, Tic Tac mentioned that what Afriyie said is his opinion and he is entitled to it but he disagrees with him because “For me personally I’m getting a bit tired with the way people wake up and just talk, forgetting the main reason why there is a situation like that” Tic Tac poured his frustration in reaction to Wutah Afriyie’s comment.

“They just talking in the air for no reason and sometimes I don’t want to join the wagon, this whole talk-give-back campaign, I’m busy try to (You know) sort thing out in my life and what I want to do and work it out. So I don’t want to focus too much on what people say it’s their own opinion but the truth of the matter is, if someone tells you a musician is not investing in the industry, I tell them that it’s a lie. Because any song any musician releases is a huge investment already.

Look video involves directors right, it involves dancers, it involves a lot of people. All of these people gotto be paid ok? Now when you want to take it on TV you are paying, if you want to put it on radio you are paying, you understand? So every part of it is an investment so who says musicians don’t invest? What happens is that when they are tired of doing that every year sometimes and it doesn’t pay back they want to turn a new leaf and see if that will bring extra money, extra change for them to use it back into the same sieving basket” Tic Tac educated Wutah Afriyie.
