Woman arreted for stealing

Ekua-Sarpomaa-1-620x406But for the timely intervention of personnel of the Accra Regional Police Command, a beautician would have been lynched for stealing at Tudu in Accra.

The suspect, Ekua Sarpomaa, according to reports, went to a fabric shop to purchase some materials but allegedly stole the money belonging to the shop owner.

Reports said the suspect allegedly hid the money in some of the fabrics but luck eluded her when the shop attendant realized that the money had been stolen and caused her arrest.

Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Effia Tenge, who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, said the incident occurred on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Tudu.

The lady at about midday on that fateful day went to the fabric shop to buy some materials. The shop owner offered her a seat and served other customers.

The lady, who was sitting close to where the bag containing the money was being kept, allegedly took the money inside the bag, wrapped it with a fabric she was about to buy and hid it in the shop.

After some minutes, the victim could not locate the money and confronted the suspect.

The suspect, upon interrogations, admitted taking the money and led them to it.

Some of the traders subjected her to severe beatings so the shop owner called the police for assistance.

The suspect was later handed over to the police to assist in further investigations.
