Bachelor rapes and murders mom, maid

knife-Murder_Kuwait-750x406RESIDENTS of Oforikrom in the Suhum municipality of the Eastern Region were Monday morning thrown into a state of shock when one Michael Agyare, currently at large, allegedly killed his mother, Doris Tetteh, 59 years old and a maid, Mary Adjoa Addo, 20, in cold blood.

The suspect, unemployed, allegedly had sexual intercourse with his mother and the maid before using a machete to butcher the mother at the washroom and stripped the maid naked in the bedroom.

The suspect reportedly wrote a note and left it behind – which is with the police – before committing the crime.

He then managed to escape before the police arrived at the house.

The deceased woman was the head of records at the Suhum Government Hospital while the maid was a Form Three student of Presbyterian Senior High School, Suhum.

The landlord, Nana Kojo Dompreh, Suhum Adonten Ankobeahene, speaking to DAILY GUIDE, said he was at home at 6:30 am when some staff of the deceased woman came to inform him that she hadn’t reported to work as usual. By then her phone was ringing in the rented three-bedroom apartment.

Nana Dompreh indicated that Michael Agyare was unemployed and often forced his mother to marry for him; he also accused the mother of being a witch who did not allow him to succeed in life.

According to Nana, last Saturday Agyare came to him to complain that he [the landlord] should ask the mother to marry for him and he asked him to exercise patience since he is not employed.

He pointed out that the young man often picked quarrel with his mother and so he decided to eject them from his house.

The Suhum Police Commander, Supt. Muchiraru Yahaya, with a team from the regional Crime Department, later stormed the house to access the situation and conveyed the bodies of the woman and the maid to the hospital.

Supt. Yahaya confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that his outfit had launched investigation into the matter to fish out the suspect.
