DISTURBING PHOTO: Fake BNI man drowns in attempt to escape arrest

IMG-20161004-WA0002-2-660x330A young man who paraded himself as a BNI official in an attempt to extort monies from some teachers in the Ahanta West District has drowned when tried escaping arrest.

 

The man, Morro Ibrahim, 20 who hails from Ayiem in the Western Region is reported to have gone to the only public basic School in Ewusiejoe near Agona Nkwanta on Tuesday posing as a BNI official.

 

A teacher from the School who wants to remain anonymous tells YOURS IN THE INDEFATIGABLE SERVICE OF GHANA, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson the suspect who is now deceased demanded the ID cards and the Certificates of the Teachers in addition to a fee which would enable him forward their names to Accra for their Salary arrears to be cleared for them

 

One teacher who became suspicious called a BNI friend in the District Capital to verify whether it was indeed the BNI that was embarking on that exercise,

 

The BNI quickly rushed to the scene but upon hearing of the presence of the BNI the suspect took to his heals whilst some residents chased him up.

 

He eventually dived into the major stream in the community. He wasn’t seen again till the next day when his lifeless body was seen floating on the water.  The body has since been retrieved

 

Ahanta West District police Commander DSP Samuel Osei confirms the family has since come for the body for burial whilst investigation continues.
