Some retailers of Kalyp?o at Kotokuraba in Cape Coast are calling on producers of the fruit drink to fast-track its supply to the metropolis so as to meet the high demand.
The craze for the fruit juice has been on the rise after a photograph of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo sipping the juice went viral on social media.
During the manifesto launch of the NPP ahead of the December 7 polls, sellers of Kalyp?o recorded huge sales at the venue in Accra.
The patronage of Kalyp?o has been high in Cape Coast in the Central Region, and some shop keepers have demanded quick distribution in the metropolis.
According to them, the product has been scarce on the market for almost two weeks now.
“The company must create many distribution centres in the metropolis. For about two weeks now, it has been scarce,” Miriam, a retailer added.
“I went to check at Abura Market but only one shop had it so they need to improve the supply here.”
“Yesterday Kalyp?o became heavily available in the last two weeks. Of late, we don’t get it at Sonturk Supermarket, the main distributor,” another resident, Kofi Sunkwa, told 3news.com.
“The old have also bought a lot of Kalyp?o but as to whether they drink all of them alone, I cannot tell,” said Hawa Kuma.
