My next term will be 4 years of job creation – Prez. Mahama

ghanastar_2016-05-30_16-39-03President John Dramani Mahama has promised that his next term will be four years of job creation.

President Mahama said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Bassa Traditional Area, Nana Owusu Sakyi III, at Kajeji in the Sene East Constituency last Tuesday.

The job creation, President Mahama explained, would be anchored in the Economic Transformation and Livelihood Empowerment Programme (ETLEP) which is in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto.

While acknowledging the agricultural importance of the Sene area, the President said the area would benefit from the agricultural revolution that would take place.

“Agriculture will flourish. We will open farmers service centres, one of which would be in Sene East. It will be four years of green revolution of Ghana,” he said.

He also said the government would soon distribute outboard motors to fishermen along the Volta Lake at subsidised prices, and a water taxi system would be introduced at Kajeji.

More work

While mentioning the successes chalked up by his government, the President indicated that there was still a lot of work to be done.

“I have not stood anywhere to say we have finished all the work in front of us. It is said that ‘Rome was not built in a day,” he said, and assured Ghanaians that the government would continue to work to make life comfortable for the people.

President Mahama said in 2012, he promised that the road to Kajeji would be rehabilitated and truly, work was  ongoing.
