Sayvee, real name Saviour Adzika is amongst the well-known names in Ghana music. Registering his name on the famous ‘Lost files’ album by Hammer of the Last 2 with the likes of Tinny, Obrafour and other bigwigs, Sayvee has since demonstrated his talent with an impregnable style.
Taking a brief hiatus in music, Sayvee “laid back to observe the game for some time whilst focusing on my corporate duties as well.” As a way to announce his ‘break over’ status in music, he composed an uplifting yet educative song ‘Wei soh’ which was and is still enjoying rotational play from top Disc Jockeys (DJs) in Ghana.
Currently promoting ‘Gong gong dance’ a song which aims to introduce a new dance in Ghana, Sayvee who is hailed as the Corporate Artiste is being discussed off social media by the youth of Sekondi-Takoradi, nicknamed Oil City as the new face of Sekondi-Takoraid music.
By new face of Sekondi-Takoradi music, some of the arguments that www.233times.net eavesdropped on says “Sayvee portrays the contemporary Tadi spirit which shows the swag, the delivery, the talent and the maturity in music.” Another person who wants to be known as Abizy said “When we are talking about an Artiste the literate and illiterate can relate to, Sayvee’s name comes to mind first. His level of maturity is great and he is someone who is showcasing Tadi well”
Whilst a section disagrees with the assertions of those who are hailing Sayvee as the new face of Sekondi-Takoradi music, their argument is that there are names out there who are hailed as ‘Tadi boys’ so it would be unfair to hail Sayvee alone as the new face of Sekondi-Takoradi music.
The argument still lingers on. Is Sayvee the new face of Sekondi-Takoraid music, let’s bring the argument online.
