murder-620x406The Odorkor Police are currently holding four persons who allegedly lynched a suspected thief at Oduman, near Ablekuma in the Greater Accra region.

The suspects allegedly stripped the deceased Mahmud Issaka Baba naked, subjected him to severe beatings and set him ablaze.

They are Paul Larbie aka Kwame Obutu, Asafoatse Armah, Aziz Allottey Asafoaste and Nii Aklamah Tegoe aka Shainu.

They have been provisionally charged with murder and would be arraigned before court.

Reports said that the police managed to apprehend the suspects with the help of some eyewitnesses in the area.

The suspects lived in the same area with the deceased person and his relations at Oduman.

On October 14, 2016, Paul Larbie, one of the suspects, allegedly accused Mahmud Issaka of stealing his motorbike.

The four converged on the Oduman Clinic and called the victim on phone to meet them for a discussion.

According to reports, as soon as the victim arrived, the suspects struck him with sticks and clubs for stealing the motorbike.

They further stripped him naked and forced him to march through the streets of Oduman.

The four subsequently dragged the victim to a nearby house and burnt him with a tyre and petrol.

Brother of the deceased person Mallam Bawa Issaka, who received information that his brother was being brutalized for stealing, quickly moved to the said location but discovered the torched body of his brother.

He immediately reported the matter to the police who conveyed the body to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The suspects admitted that they attacked the deceased in their caution statement.
