Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is conniving with the EC and the security agencies to rig the upcoming December 7 polls.
According to him, he has intercepted documents which clearly shows the calculated plans of the Electoral Commission together with the ruling NDC and the security agencies to rig the elections through intimidations and stuffing the ballot boxes with thumb printed papers.
Speaking on Oman FM’s ‘Today’s Agenda’, Hon. Ken Agyapong revealed that the NDC has the intention of bribing all the polling agents of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to stuff the ballot boxes with the thump printed papers.
He added that the survey showing that the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo- Addo will win the 2016 Presidential election will not materialized if his party (NPP) executives do not sit up and be vigilant during the day of elections.
“There is a deliberate attempt by the EC and security agencies to rig the elections for the NDC and they intend to bribe our polling agents to pave way to stuff the ballot boxes with their thump printed papers at some strongholds of the NPP,” he asserted.
“NDC has plans to offer Ghc600 bribe to NPP polling agents at some polling stations and those NPP polling agents in Volta Region they are prepared to offer them Ghc2,000 as a bribe to pave way for them to stuff the ballot boxes, but it will not work this time,” he alleged.
He reiterated that “all the strongholds of the NPP has been earmarked as flashpoints in order to intimidate the electorates from voting, but the only way we can win this elections is to be vigilant at the polling stations in our strongholds.”
He warned party Executives to take up these alarming situations serious and not to rely on the surveys indicating a resounding victory for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP as there are schemes by the NDC and the EC to rig the elections.
