As promised, online news portals, www.233times.net and www.satelliteghana.com hosted a lunch party for the students of the Twin City Special School (School for children with intellectual disability) in Sekondi on 12th November, 2016 at the school’s assembly hall.
The lunch party dubbed ‘Our Day’ was also a pep-talk and fun-filled event with the students of the facility. Speaking during a pep-talk session, CEO of Prestige Knight Enterprise (operators of www.233times.net) Nana Kwesi Coomson revealed his motivation for undertaking such endeavours. In his speech, Mr. Coomson mentioned that he learned how to give from his 13-year-old nephew. He said “Personally, I have learnt how to give from both the young and old. I have an intelligent nephew, Nana Kofi Coomson who is only 13 years old now. I bought a puppy for him when he was 10 years. We named the dog Kim. I remember one day after eating, I had finished every grain of rice and my plate was empty. Upon seeing me, Nana Kofi who was with Kim asked me a question which poked me “Nti anngya bi amma Kim a?” meaning “So you didn’t leave some of your food to Kim?” That really embarrassed me. To us, we thought Nana Kofi did not like food, not knowing he intentionally left some of his food for Kim. So, if you hear me saying ‘We don’t eat alone,’ I imbibed that from a 10-year-old boy.” He also thanked the supporters of the event and said that, if it had not been their help, the programme would not have happened. According to Mr. Coomson, Ghanaians in United Kingdom (where he is currently pursuing his master’s degree) and in Ghana have supported immensely.
Mr. Bruno Koomson, CEO of www.satelliteghana.com also spoke to the students, encouraging them to study hard and make the best out of their education. He also thanked the supporters, those who were present as well as well-wishers. Mr. Koomson who rushed from his grandfather’s burial service to the event was the last person to give a pep-talk to the students.

In his vote of thanks to the organizers of the event, Mrs. Bilson-Sai asked for God’s blessings and guidance on the organizers and she also appealed to the public to come to the aid of the school.
