The Chief Executive Officer of Prestige Knight Enterprise (operators of www.233times.net) Nana Kwesi Coomson has completed a one year master’s degree course in Corporate Social Responsibility and Energy at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, United Kingdom (UK).
Winning a scholarship from the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme in 2015, Mr. Coomson competed with 5,750 original contenders for the prestigious scholarship. He was amongst 41 chosen for the fully funded scholarship which is managed by the British Council.
Speaking to www.233times.net, NKC as he is affectionately called by his friends said “So far, this is the most stimulating one year of my life. If I am asked to do it again, I won’t think twice, I will do it.” Asking him what the highlight of his one year in school is, Mr. Coomson said “I was a Student Ambassador and that gave me the opportunity to interact with people from different countries on different issues relating to student wellbeing and academic life. It has given me different perspectives in life and has improved my problem-solving skills as well.”
Mr. Coomson who dedicated his dissertation (thesis) to Ghana wrote on ‘Impact of local content regulations on corporate social responsibility operations in the energy sector’ with focus on Ghana and Uganda.
“Pursuing a course I have great interest in is a dream come true and I am very grateful to my sponsors and my family and friends who have supported me throughout this stimulating journey. I will not attempt to mention names because if I do, I will end up leaving so many names. I am grateful to God for His continuous grace and mercies and I want to say God bless everyone who has contributed to this” Mr. Coomson who graduated with Merit (Second class upper division in Ghana) expressed his profound appreciation.
With the experience and knowledge gathered in his higher education in UK, Mr. Coomson promised to contribute immensely to Ghana’s development with focus on youth, children and women empowerment.
