In most African homes, it is near-a-taboo for parents to talk to their children about issues of heterosexual relationships and sexuality. According to researchers, this has accounted for dull intimate times amongst some African partners as they are not confident to open up on issues of intimacy to their partners.
It is on this note that Adwoa Armah-Appiah, a Project Manager by profession and a mother of two with over two (2) decades of experience in marriage has architectured a late-night radio programme titled ‘Bed Talk’ to discuss bedroom issues with well-versed people in that area.
With the maiden edition of the programme which aired on London’s Afropolitan Station, ABN Radio on 20th January, 2017, it was obvious that the black community had waited for this radio time for far too long as calls and text messages revealed. Touching on ‘Foreplay’ as the topic for the maiden edition of ‘Bed Talk,’ panel members as well as listeners who shared experiences and opinions on the topic had innumerable approaches to foreplay as most of them described it (foreplay) as a ‘catalyst’.
Live in ABN’s studio and some joining in online, together with the host, the learned married panel members who cut across various professions gave listeners countless reasons why they should tune in to the programme every Friday from 9pm to 11pm.
‘Bed Talk’ adopts a no-hold-barred approach to heterosexual relationship and sexuality issues and targets 18+ married and unmarried adults who fall in middle to upper class radio listenership demography.
