VIDEO: Rawlings gives Oko Vanderpuiye cold-shoulder

307759528_761369It’s amazing how people show respect to their elders, particularly in times of need. Some tend to kneel or bow before their superiors while others resort to other humble means to display their respectful character.

This was exactly the case at the forecourt of Parliament House Thursday when President John Dramani Mahama went to deliver his last State of the Nation’s Address.

Present at the Legislative House were various dignitaries including Former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Arriving at the premises, an interesting event occurred when former President Rawlings was walking up the stairs leading to the entrance of the Legislative House.

For the Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuiye, it must have been a mortifying moment captured in a video gone viral when he attempted to seize the opportunity to exchange pleasantries with the former President; and Mr. Rawlings openly rebuffed him.

Mr. Rawlings seems to have had enough of Oko Vanderpuiye and so blatantly refused to recognize the latter when he (Oko Vanderpuiye) approached him (Rawlings).

Watch the awkward moment below:
