Dubai Airport records 8m passengers in 1 month

dubai-airport-inside-1Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest for international travel, has said passengers in January reached 8 million, rising 9.7 percent higher compared to the same period of 2016, the airport’s operator said on Wednesday.
The number of flights at the airport increased 2.1 per cent to 36,592, while the average number of passengers per flight increased to 230 from 215 a year earlier.

Dubai airport handled 208,271 tonnes of cargo in January, an increase of 3.4 percent from a year earlier. According to the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, he said:’It’s an auspicious start to what is sure to be another record-breaking year for DXB.’
