Information available to this medium indicates that Chinese commercial sex workers have invaded Wassa Akropong, a popular mining community in the Western Region.

Some concerned citizens who want to remain anonymous say these foreign night ladies are normally brought in by their male counterparts who act as their pimps. They normally charge between 500 and 1000 ghana cedis from their clients who are mostly foreign and indigenous galamsey operators according to informants.

What the residents claim to be more worrying is some military personnel believed to have been deployed from Takoradi are allegedly providing 24 hour security for these commercial sex workers.

Some hotels in the township according to the information have virtually been turned into brothels to harbour such whores. Residents lament such activities have brought very deep moral decadence in the township as most of the indigenous youths are increasingly patronising the services of these Chinese sex workers whilst young girls are also being wooed into this wanton venture.
