The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako thinks that former President John Dramani Mahama stands tall of all the other presidential aspirants within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who have expressed interest in Election 2020.
To him, out of all the names that have come out as of now as interested presidential aspirants, John Mahama was still the favourable candidate.
Speaking on Joy FM’s news analysis programme – Newsfile – on Saturday, Mr Baako said; “Honestly, if I look at all the names coming up, I still don’t see any of them more competitive… Spio Garbrah, Goosie Tanoh and my own friend from Dadekotopon… who says he is prepared to only defer to Joshua Alabi… none of them is as competitive as John Mahama in my candid opinion.”
Asked by the host of the programme, Samson Lardy Anyenini if Joshua Alabi would be a good candidate, Mr Baako said, “it would be unfair for me to comment … but if you force me, none of them is as competitive as John Mahama in my candid opinion”
“They should wait for the Kwesi Botchwey report, I have heard a lot of leaders here and there talking, some are positioning themselves for party positions, some are looking into 2020. It is a human element, it is so difficult to subject people to a certain regime of discipline that keep quiet, don’t show the ambition.”
He was commenting on the recent meeting between John Mahama and appointees who worked in his government.
